What custom concrete lettering costs.
One formula, no quotes: a custom text stamp costs $0.55 per square inch of stamp face with a $100 minimum. Most stamps land between $100 and $350. Here are real numbers from the same engine that prices checkout — and what they buy.
Four real stamps, priced live.
These figures are computed by the production pricing engine at build time — the same formula the designer and checkout use, so they can't drift from what you'd actually pay.
One-line address
$10016″ × 6″
A street number or family name — prices at the order minimum.
Two-line poem
$10020″ × 8″
The classic sidewalk-poetry format — still at the minimum.
Memorial, 3–4 lines
~$11918″ × 12″
Name, years, and a short phrase.
Full stanza, 6–8 lines
~$23824″ × 18″
Larger format for longer verse.
Area is the whole story.
Machine time scales with the area being carved, so the price does too — $0.55 per square inch, nothing else. Fonts don't change the price. Text length doesn't change the price directly; longer text simply needs a bigger stamp to stay readable at sidewalk scale. There are no design fees, setup fees, or per-letter charges, and designing is free — you only pay when you order the physical stamp.
The number that matters most isn't the sticker price — it's cost per impression. A stamp is reusable tooling built for 100+ pressings: a minimum-priced stamp used across a program or a contractor's season works out to roughly a dollar per installed impression, each one lasting 50+ years in the slab.
Cost questions, answered.
- How is the price of a custom concrete stamp calculated?
- By area alone: $0.55 per square inch of stamp face, with a $100 per-stamp minimum. Machine time scales with the area being carved, so the formula mirrors the actual production cost. There are no design fees, setup fees, or per-letter charges.
- Does the font or amount of text change the price?
- Not directly — only the stamp's dimensions matter. More text usually needs a bigger stamp to stay readable, which is what moves the price. The design tool shows the exact price as you type, so you can watch the trade-off live.
- Why is there a minimum?
- Every stamp — whatever its size — is individually machined, finished, and checked before it ships. The $100 minimum covers that fixed work; at typical address-stamp sizes you're usually at the minimum anyway.
- What does it cost per use?
- A stamp is reusable tooling, built for 100+ impressions. A minimum-priced stamp pressed a hundred times works out to about a dollar per impression — and each impression lasts 50+ years in cured concrete.
- What's NOT included in the stamp price?
- Two things. Shipping is charged separately at checkout — Standard, Express, or Overnight, priced by your order's size and weight. You see the exact rate before you pay. And the concrete work itself — the stamp presses into a pour you (or your contractor) were already making; it adds no equipment and about a minute of labor.
- Do you offer volume pricing?
- Yes — multi-stamp runs (10+) for programs, campuses, and contractors are quoted with tiered volume pricing. Single stamps never need a quote; the designer prices them instantly.
